A common misconception I see a lot with personal injury (car accident, slip and fall, nursing home abuse, or medical malpractice) cases is that people think the defense attorneys are paid by the defendant. This rarely happens.
The defense attorneys are almost always paid by the insurance company or are actually salaried employees of the insurance company.
